Recharge!

What a day! A much needed, relaxing, getaway day. I woke up at 9 and planned on attempting another outdoor run in The Pearl. My dad, who was home today, suggested we take a drive somewhere else a little more scenic. We ended up 90 minutes away in Seaside, OR. It's a small town with some great shops located right on the beach. There's a boardwalk and path that I ran along and it was great! I enjoyed it a lot more than running through the neighborhood. So much to look at and running along the ocean almost felt like being home in California. Except it was cloudy. And windy. And cold. But that happens! Afterwards, we stopped into The Buzz On Broadway, which is an AMAZING candy store. So many things to choose from! They even have chocolate covered Twinkies. Deeeeelish!

My dad may even be joining the blogosphere, which would mean our entire household (minus Pearly) is a part of the blogging world. How cool is that? We can have blog parties in the living room. Or something like that. My mom's totally sold on the idea and I've been appointed as full-time tech support. If all goes as planned, he'll be discussing the trials and tribulations of learning various computer programming languages. I think. I'm really not the right person to ask about all of this, I thought he was talking about learning Spanish or Italian when he mentioned spending the summer taking classes at MIT to learn some new languages. He works in the software programming/engineering/testing industry, so I guess it should have clicked in my brain. So that's pretty exciting. My mom and I just spent an hour throwing information and links in his direction and he's looking a little shell shocked, but I think some good things may come of this.

I just checked the class schedule for my gym, and they added an extra Zumba class! Tomorrow I'll once again attempt to master the art of Zumba. I've taken two or three classes before, and they were tough but so much fun. Thursday I'll also be trying out a Hoopnotica class. I'm not entirely sure what I'm getting myself into, but that shound be interesting. The description says it combines hula hooping with belly dance. It's supposed to be good for balance, coordination, and stress reduction. I definitely could use help in those areas!

Lastly, I want to share one of my favorite pictures of the little devil kitty that's currently incredibly high on cat-nip. She's on her back next to me right now, staring at the ceiling intently. Crazy kitty!
