There are naked people everywhere. On bikes!

How has everyone's weekend been? Yesterday we drove through Oregon and all the way up the coast of Washington. It was beautiful (and sunny!) and we had a great time. It was a long day though, and we didn't get home until well after 9.

Interestingly enough, last night was the first Saturday of Pedalpalooza 2009 which is 2 and a half weeks straight of bike events in and around Portland. They do all kinds of themed rides and have picnics and parties. Last night they had a huge dance party which ended with, get this...a NAKED ride. That's right. Beginning at midnight over 2,000 naked bicycle riders took over the city. We were still up watching a movie, and around 1am we heard a huge commotion. And what did I see when I looked down at the street? Hundreds of bike headlights coming our way. Everyone looked like they were having a great time! Some people had costumes and crazy hats, and others had attached speakers to their bikes. A few people were skateboarding, and we saw one or two runners. And yes, almost everyone was naked. Luckily, we were up high enough that we could watch without witnessing anything too scandalous. And they do this every year!

This morning I went for a run, and luckily everyone I saw was fully clothed. It went really well, other than the shin pains I've been getting afterward. I think part of it is that I'm running on sidewalks which are definitely unforgiving. Maybe I need to see if I can find a track somewhere?

Tomorrow is the start of the e-course that I signed up for. The amazing Goddess Leonie has created it and I'm really excited! It focuses on changing the energy in both your home and yourself. I have no idea what I'm in for, but I love trying things like this! My mom, who has her own blog, focuses on creativity and creative coaching and she suggested I try this. She's working on Wreck This Journal right now, which is really cool! I have one too, but I can't bring myself to do anything to it!

Also, I start my online summer class next Monday! It's on the foundations of education and I think it will be interesting. I still have to buy my textbook!

I heard a few days ago that Memphis has had some awful weather recently (along with much of that area!). Apparently a small tornado went through the Rhodes campus and took down some of the HUGE trees they have, including one right in front of my old dorm! Last I've heard they STILL don't have power, which must be miserable in the heat down there. I hope everyone's okay and that everything is fixed soon!

Hopefully everyone else had a wonderful weekend, even if it was raining (or snowing?) wherever you are.
